The Johnny Cane Band is truly getting old & experienced. Formed back in 1995, when the five members were about 15-16 years old, countrymusic became their true calling. 12 years down the line & the band is still carrying on, doing their own thing.
Eventhough the band has evolved and gotten heaps of new influences, they still sound like The Johnny Cane Band & they still act like The Johnny Cane Band. This means rehearsing on & off (mostly off) & sometimes even trying to record some new songs. Once in a while The Johnny Cane Band saddle up and play concerts, and since all of their gigs have become legendary ones, you’re really lucky if you get to see them live. But if you do, you’re surely up for one sweet little country-treat! The band is currently working harder than ever, preparing for new recordings and gigs in 2008, but with a busy schedule with the members other bands; Grand Island, Superfamily & Betty Ford, it’s hard to say exactly when this will happen. But it will happen, that’s a promise from their manager & mentor Mr. Johnny Cane.
The only thing that is for sure right now is that The Johnny Cane Band will record more songs together with the excellent Freddy Holm (Corazón, Henning Kvitnes, The Eastfold Picker) in the Corazón Studio in the hills of Tistedalen. They've already managed to put down four tracks to their upcoming album with the working title "He Plays A Mean Suitcase", which probably will be released in 2010 (if one is to follow The Canes ongoing workingrate). And you can listen to all of them right here on MySpace!
So stay tuned for more action from these great men from the highlands of Jeløya, Moss!
