obvious stuff...laughing hard, dancing with gay abandon and completely badly, drinking (I'm English), passion, eating mmmmm, yoga, skiing, freewheeling - not necessarily in that order, or all at once although that would be a fine skill....
Anyone who's already got over their myspaz addiction.
Mixed bag. Bright Eyes, Feist, Cat Power, Django Reinhardt, Public Enemy, Allman Bros, Nick Cave, Grinderman, Get Cape Wear Cape fly, SFA, Gram Parsons, Charlatans, Arctics, Prodigy, Lee Hazlewood, Billie Holiday, Nick Drake, Outkast, Trousersnake, Fanfarlo, Shortwave Set, Neil Cowley Trio, Ian Brown (but changed my mind since i saw him live- singing was off key 50% of the time - SHITE, band were amazing though), Metronomy, PJ (Harvey not And Duncan), Herbaliser, Fink, Bowie, Faithless, Tricky,White Stripes,Buena Vista Social, The Killers, Damian Rice, Chemical Bros, Sigur Ros, Groove Armada, Byrds, some weird psych folk rock band I went to last week but can't remember the name of. My mates old band Myra Hindley and the Swamp Diggers not for their capability but for the pure chutzpah of singing Surfing USA in a high speed psychobilly punk style while balancing on top of ironing boards. I like my genres mixed a little - jazzy hip hop, folky drum and base and currently quite obsessed with anything that sports a hint of country guitar. All of the above subject to change at the drop of a hat.
Harold and Maude, City of God, High Society, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, So I Married an Axe Murderer. Closer. Kung Fu Hustle, in fact anything by Stephen Chow and pretty much any Kung Fu movie (is that weird?)
The drug of the nation. Except Peep Show which is a perfectly acceptable tv crack addiction.
Peter Carey, Iain Banks, Bronte's (both), Peter Hoeg, Zola, Jeanette Winterson, Matthew Kneale, Zadie Smith, Umberto Eco, Somerset Maugham, Armisted Maupin.... I could go on...(and on and on)?
situation vacant... I want a villains section
