Joe Moody

I am from Montgomery, Alabama, and started playing music at the age of 12. I have made Austin, TX my home for a good while now. In Austin, I have collaborated and performed with several local musicians (including Harry J. Anslinger, Oliver Rajmani) and helped form groups including Moodswing (out of San Marcos, TX) and the Bouldin Creek Ramblers. I have an ongoing collaboration in Ireland with my friend Derrick Gleeson which is called Moody and Gleeson. I also have my own career as a singer songwriter. The songs on this page are meant to represent a bit of my solo work and will be changing from time to time. In 2006, I held a temporary position as the bass player for the British rock band the Electric Shoes (www.electricshoes.biz) in Barcelona, Spain. I recorded a CD with them which can be downloaded off of their site. In 2007, I lived in Japan (Tokyo area). Now, I am back in Austin. This year, I played the SXSW festival with Taiwanese DJs- KbN.About my new music- hold in there! Hopefully, I will have some new recordings together by the end of the summer. I am currently getting together my own band to showcase my original material. I will be working this summer with drummer Joe Molloy.
