Dirty Dead

Yeah...we cover Hall and Oats...what about it?

About Me

Dirty Dead was formed in the summer of 2004 by Neil Burkdoll of STUMP, WHIMSICAL, LOGSPLITTER, POOR and Brad Vanderzee of The PINK MACHINES, MOISTENED DISCIPLES, POOR and DECRYPT. Both members have a great love for all things Misfits/Samhain and we wanted to start a project in the tradition of these bands but with a few new influences as well. Because both members come from a Death Metal/Grindcore background, the speed of our songs tend to be much faster than most horror punk bands you’re likely to hear.
In Dec 2004, a 5 song demo was recorded which features 4 originals, as well as a super fast version of The Misfits’ Hybrid Moments. All of these songs were available for download at www.dirtydead.com . The band is currently finishing the recording of 18 songs for their full length album which will be recorded soon. Steve and Mike from STUMP/LOGSPLITTER have joined the band on a live basis.
A split cd with Ghoul Squad was released in the spring of 2005. This split cd contained 4 songs from each band and was limited to 100 copies. Over the next year, we had songs on a few Horror Punk compilation cd’s around the world. We also played a bunch of shows in 2005 and early 2006. The band was put on hiatus when Neil moved to California in April of 2006. Although the band cannot play shows anymore, Neil and Brad still plan to do some recording to keep the music of Dirty Dead around for some time.
A few new songs are in the beginning stages of being recorded in early 2007. The album that is long overdue is almost done being mixed.
In Spring of 2008, Dirty Dead decided to start playing shows on the West Coast again. Stay Tuned...
