Whether it be producing unique off-kilter break-orientated music, DJing a wide range of well informed selections and styles, co-hosting the Morning Glory radio show or co-piloting the Cookshop record label with fellow conspirator Lost Idol , La Femme is certainly never short of something to do.
Since forming Cookshop in 2002 as an output for alternative and forward-thinking dance music La Femme has released a handful of consistently quality tracks for which she has received praise for not only her ability to move feet, but also her fresh production approach and unwillingness to follow the herd.
As a DJ, La Femme relishes the role of a selector. To hell with nifty scratches and flashy spinbacks, La femme just likes playing a wide range of good music. Be it funk, be it hip hop, drum & bass or be-bop...if it sounds good, it gets a spin. As well as playing regularly around Brighton, La Femme recently had the honour of playing at one of the legendary Turntables On The Hudson parties in New York.
Radio
La Femme co-hosts Cookshop's Morning Glory radio show every Sunday 6am-8am on Brighton’s Juice 107.2FM and online at Totally Radio . Morning Glory brings listeners a varied pot of musical treats keeping things nicely laidback and horizontal. From electronica to alt indie, underground folk to overground beats, Morning Glory prescribes the finest in aural ear-candy new and old, classic and unclassified.
