I design and build swords for martial arts use, costuming and collecting. I got started in the business via my career in martial arts. I have studied the Japanese art of iai for 20 years with a large portion of my study in Japan. It was through working with various artists and manufacturers in Japan that I developed my interest in making swords. My passion for swords ultimately lead to the formation of ASA Swordworks. We started by building swords for Japanese martial artists and quickly found ourselves building swords for European historical fencers. We are now expanding and developing swords for stage combat, historical re-enactors, and anyone else interested in having a quality custom sword. I love my work.
