Q. "So why the name Henesseys?"
A. "For those who dont know me my real name is Genesis Singson. Born October 17, 1983 in the city of Manila, Philippines but raised in Malvern (Toronto), Canada. I go by the name "Henesseys" cause of my Filipino-Spanish background. I am a Filipino, Spanish and Chinese mixed, so you can say that I am one of a kind. =) . If you say Genesis in filipino or spanish you'll get "Henesseys".
Q. "So Henesseys do you have a special lady by your side?"
A. "Other than my mom and my sister? No. Unfortunately I dont have any shoulders to lean on or anyone to call my own at the moment. So you can say that I'm currently single."
Q. "Why is that?"
A. "I ask myself that same question everyday"
Q. "What type of qualities do you look for in a woman when it comes to relationships?"
A. "I would say that the first two minutes will determine our fate. Some women are shy at first, which is cool cause I used to be shy, so I'll be patient, waiting to see if she can open up to me later. If she does then we'll carry it on from there. And If she doesnt, then I'll look elsewhere and move on. Also, she must have a great personality and a sense of humor, someone who I can get along and is fun to be with, someone who I can trust and share secrets with. It's hard to be in a relationship with someone who doesn't have a winning personality or a sense of humor - it's like talking to a brick wall, very boring. Importantly, she has to have a good head on her shoulders. A woman's intelligence is what I find sexy. And last but not least, there must be some sort of attraction or the relationship won't last."
Q. "Career wise, how did it all started?"
A. "Well, at a young age I was very interested in poetry and art. When I was young I was very shy when it comes to girls and when I had a chance to speak, my words would be all twisted up and always came out wrong. Which sucked. So I used poetry to express the way I've felt, it was a way to break-the-ice. A chance for her to see my better half, my sensitive side. And for some reason it worked. So I kept working on it and working on it, day after day. Later on in my life, my poetry transformed into lyrics. And when I first saw Wu-Tang Clan on T.V. I started thinking.. "I can do that". At the age of 13 or 14, one of my poems got published, it was called "Hope that you'll be my lady" it was the first ever poem that I have written and given to a girl and I was surprised when I first heard the news that it got published. At that time I never knew that I would be so serious about my music because I was always fond of playing sports; basket-ball, football, street hockey & baseball (My high school Lester B. Pearson won the championships when I was a freshman). I started doing mixtapes, freestyle at the corner of my street or at school. At the age of 16 I started making my own beats, honestly I wasn't any good at it at first, but with practice and over time I learned how to compose and produce my own beats. Performed at certain venues, birthday parties and such. Didn't know where it would lead but I wanted to find out. A couple years has passed and for some reason I lost interest in hip-hop but when I've heard the news that one of my boys got signed, then that's when I finally took hip-hop very seriously. I had to step up my level"
Q. "So what do you do in your free time, besides music?"
A. "Whenever Im not in the studio or out performing, I'm usually out playing ball, or going to a pool hall or going to a theatre to watch a movie. Or you can either find me at a club dancing and chilling with my brew. Somehow, I always have to keep myself busy, I dont know why though, maybe its because I get bored easily?? I dont know, but what I do know is that if I do get bored then that's when I tend to do something stupid. Which is not good."

Q. "So what are Henesseys' biggest influences?"
A. "The biggest influence in my life would be my family. Even though I did grow up from a rough neighborhood of Malvern (Toronto, Ontario), my family values kept me focused and determined. For my music influences it would be Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Big L, LL Cool J, Neptunes, Bone Thugs 'N Harmony and last but not least, it would be all those cats rhyming in the street corners and everyone who's hustling just to survive. Life itself is my biggest influence."
