Band History
Just About Done is a Pretoria based punk rock band that was formed in March 2004. We started writing songs and recording them on the pc, and it all progressed from there. We started lining up gigs, and played our first show in May 2004 on an open stage night at Cool Runnings Centurion.
We have played at the following events:
+Woodstock 9
+Old Old Wooden Ship Tour (Durban)
+Aardklop Festival 2006
+TUKS Springday 2006
+Fuzigish Album Launch: Roll With The Punches
+Punk Tea Party at Thrashers Skate Park
+Screaming Punk Fest at Thrashers Skate Park
+MK89 Battle Vir Woodstock 1st round and semi-final
+Tempos under 18 festival: Beyond-The-Beach 2
+Powerzone Punk Party at Tempos
+When Worlds Collide: Punk vs Rock at Thrashers Skate Park
+Anthems Of Our Youth punk festival at Nile Crocodile
+CANSA Walk For Life at LC de Villiers sport ground (Tuks)
+Woerstok music festival (2004 & 2005) at Horskool Centurion
+RP Studios Emerging sounds battle of the bands at Caesars Gauteng
+Various gigs at Nile Crocodile, Cool Runnings, Roxys, Blues Room, The Winston etc.
We have played with bands such as The Finkelstiens, Fokofpolisiekar, The Narrow, 16 Stitch, Wickhead, Fuzigish, Japan and I, Straatligkinders, Scarlet Box, Cutting Jade, Sibling Rivalry, Redhouse, Grounded, Sitter, Pilot, Sub Rosa, Running With Scissors, Candy Fly, 3rd Edition, D-Day 4-Ever, Shu, F Etc, Foco etc.
In August 2004 we went into the studio to record our 1st demo/EP. Some of our songs are playlisted on TuksFM, MFM (Stellenbosch) and UCT Radio. We were also featured on these stations as one of South Africas up and coming bands. Our song Something To Think About reached a number 2 position on UCT Radios top40 chart.
We recorded and released our first full-length album on the 2nd of September at Thrashers Skate park. It was an amazing show!
People go to a show to be entertained, therefore an important aspect of our shows is to make it as energetic and fun as possible for the crowd. Diversity is an important aspect when writing our songs, and we strive to make each song unique, by incorporating different styles.
Goals
Initially we started out just wanting to play in a band and have fun. Since then our goals have progressed, dreaming of bigger things. We are passionate and hard working at everything we do, avoiding becoming just another band. Going forward we aim to play at as many festivals as possible (e.g. Woodstock, Splashy Fen, Oppikoppi, Uprising etc.), creating awareness of our music across South Africa. Thereafter we want to take our music beyond SA borders. We are willing to embrace the challenges ahead, achieving these goals with hard work and dedication.!!! Start Code To Apply Top Banner !!!!
