About Me

I was born abroad of a European father and an American mother; raised in the Lubbock area west Texas plains and I love a piano. I fool around with blues; rock; and a classical matrix of sound...I've just built a virtual recording studio (with a little help from my friends). "From Pain to Pleasure" is my first fully synthesized recording. I like it!. Synth is gonna be a gas! My heartfelt thanks to my family and friends that encouraged and supported me through good and tough times. I love you all, and am ever so grateful.African Rain and Spanish Clippers is a cross-over or a New Age album...proto-new age...rats, I can't put my finger on it.... I like it. I hope you enjoy the music as much as I have. Humbly yours, Cel Arts.Cel has played with area renowned in Quincy, Illinois; Rod Hibbert and the Satellites; Crystal Wind, during which time, unbeknownst to one of the members, the genesis of Micki Free would soon bear towards the light of fame not long after the breakup of this fine band; and Cel has jammed with the elusive Skeeter Tate Band. In Texas, Cel has played with Sweetleaf, of which the lead singer was Larry Williams, later becoming known as Jr. Medlow of Austin, Tx. blues fame. Cel has also recorded with Nightflyer and The Robert Shaw Projects - versatile; hard rock outfits. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yours Truly, Elfin Productions and Publishing (tm, sm) .. Influences: Freddie King; David Arkenstone; Jimmi Hendrix; Bob Dylan; Chopin; The Allman Brothers; Led Belly; Yanni; Led Zepplin; Thelonius Monk; Leonard Bernstein; Aaron Copland; George Gerschwin; Pat Metheny; Steve Miller; etc....aww hell, give me a break; there's almost more inspiration than there is God.
Sounds Like: Some people have said George Winston...seems so many ivory strokers want to claim that. I didn't know, I had never listened to Winston until a year ago (I know...believe it or not...). I mean, I've heard of him and knew he was a legend, but I never checked him out. From what I had gathered at the time, that compliment was a GREAT flattery, a bit much really. I figured he must be awful rugged. I had a 'sitsi' and listened to his music one day: I then felt kinda embarrassed having been so flattered...that sucker is great! I sure as hell didn't deserve that compliment; nor do the braggarts.........O.K....I certainly must be the most uninformed musician on the planet. My old guitar player kept nudgin' me to hear his stuff. Yeah verilly, the artist is worthy. Bird also suggested I giveCold Play a listen...jeeze. My mind is slowly opening. I think I shall go towards the back yard and piss like a mummy.Maybe I sound a bit like Yanni...if you cram a synthesizer up my nose. I'll probably never invent my own manuscript though. Any of ya'll know that? That rascal invented his own type of manuscript. That's almost beastly. Speakin' of which, if you haven't checked out the Euro music scene, you really, really, should. It is bitchin'!Let me turn you on to a little something. The following first link will get you a another FREE web page, or real cheap; depending on your character, heh. Go on - paste it...by the way, the other links will give you some more marketing power as well. Mwah ha ha!!! Go ahead, check it out.http://www.webspawner.com/users/insurgenthitteaser/index .htmlhttp://www.idolunderground.com/Pages/Profile/UserProfil e.aspx? UserID=192873http://cdbaby.com/cd/marcelparishttp://www.idol underground.com/Pages/Profile/UserProfile.aspx? UserID=31472http://www.mytexasmusic.com/marcelparis/P.S. The "African Rain and Spanish Clipper" tunes were recorded in an old converted garage filled with books and furnitue, using an old, slightly out of tune Fischer cherry wood spinet; a 15 year old Teac 4 track reel-to-reel with two old Shure stage mikes my guitar player loaned me; and then trans-formed to digital format through a midi mobo riser at that...into a $500 homegrown computer (built and engineered with help from my 'puter guru Ron Bormann, an inventor); after which I thoroughly mutilated the songs with free, time limited virtual studio trial versions and a virtual audio cleaning lab I had-which someone has since ripped off. What can a poor boy do....Songs on the "Love's Art" recordings are a work in progress on new and improved stuff; Both works; "African Rain and Spanish Clippers"; and "Love's Art" have PR and SR copy rights. Thank you.Peace and Love
