Around the world at least one womyn in every three has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime. Most often the abuser is a member of her own family.
we exist, in numbers we haven't begun to imagine.. we exist in more than just secrets.. we share stories that past generations speak through, heal through.. it's long overdue to have these difficult conversations with ourselves, with each other..
this page is dedicated to adult survivors of childhood/ sexual assault 2 , & the children who are going through it now.. there is one brown ribbon i dedicate every year.. "to all the children who are going through it now.. it's alright to cry.. "
i invite you all to add this profile in solidarity.. i know myspace had some media about child perpetrators & such.. but the media also tends to focus more on perpetrators than on humanizing survivors of childhood/ sexual assault.. our stories aren't told, for those kids at home to be able to feel less alone.. for the grown person that still hurts.. for those family members that need to read this because it might be happening to someone they know.. this is a start.. i invite you to participate..
growth & healing: please respect that people heal at their own rate.. it's alright.. start when you're ready to start your healing process..
in the end, everything will be alright.. if it's not alright, then it's not the end..
