Soul On Ice was started by Troy Hendricks and David Alexander. We wanted to make music that was outside of the box, but not too far away from the music we love. We wanted to break the cookie cutter mold of R&B/Soul. We are from various backgrounds and experiences looking to broaden the scope of our artistry. We push the envelope of genres and labeling by combining various elements on each track. Not one of our songs uses only one style, and though rooted in Bluesy Soul, we listen to and apply rock, reggae/Dancehall, and funk, as well as other styles, to our own sound. We do not wish to put out, over produced yet underwhelming material. As we expose ourselves to an ever growing, and ecclectic consumer, we desire to serve lovers of gritty urban Soul, people who want sincerity and realness as well as fun and inspiration, and recognize and respect genuine original artistry.
