I'm one of those multi-dimensional cats that doesn't sit still very long. Music has always been a passion of mine through stints in several bands. I've been a lead singer since my college days when I started a blues/rock cover band called "Kodiak Jack." After graduation I came back to Chicago and joined a half original/half cover rock band called "Caught Naked." Took a few years off after that fizzled and started an original jazz/funk/blues/rock project called "Huxter." That really propelled me into original music and lyric composition. With my brother, who happens to be an excellent drummer, we hand picked the lineup for our current project, "Machine Gun Kelly" debuting April of 2006. With elements of funk, rock and blues we've put alot of soul into the music and created an excellent seed which has room to grow big. Check us out at www.myspace.com/machinegunkellyband.In addition to music I stay quite active athletically. Being a jock all my life and actually playing Division I football, I can't watch tv for too long before I feel like I'm wasting my life. I currently play highly-competitive slow pitch softball with the Hooded Frogs Softball Club competing in USSSA, ASA, NSA and ISA-sanctioned tournaments around the nation.Other things that turn me on...scuba diving, boating, scaring kids with my two Great Danes and keeping my house in good shape.
You...at Machine Gun Kelly's next show. Between the dead and living- Thomas Jefferson, Karl Marx, Brandon Boyd, Eddie Vedder, both of my grandfathers and maybe Dr. Martin Luther King.
I'm all over...I have to say I'm pretty into Machine Gun Kelly right now, Incubus, Pearl Jam, Van Halen, INXS, Mozart and all kinds of crap from the '70s.Check out Machine Gun Kelly's demo tracks below:
Airplane, Fletch, Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack, Animal House...see a pattern forming here? I have to say the cult classics are my favorites.
Rarely watch it except for White Sox and Bears games. I guess I dig shows like Huff, Family Guy and 24. Reality TV can kiss my huge, black A$$.
Anything by Dan Brown and Dean Koontz keep me interested. I'm not sitting around so much as to have time to read much anymore. With my daughter getting bigger everyday I'm sure Dr. Seuss will become a new favorite. How many people know Dr. Seuss went to Dartmouth??? That's right...and so did Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo so suck it.
I don't associate with alot of heroes because I guess I like to blaze my own trail. I respect alot of people, notably my father who really taught me to be a leader.
