Folk Rock Indie Artist Celeste Moyers Releases Debut Album
Welcome to the ULTIMATE last word.
(Austin, Texas) Gotta hate it when a song’s written about you. Especially when it’s by the curiously beautiful tart Celeste Moyers. Moyers, a folk rock/pop songstress from Austin, Texas, leaves a string of broken hearts. Thankfully for us, she does kiss and tell. Her self-titled album, released February 2009, debuted with much anticipation and rave reviews.
During an age of family connections and daddy-financed record deals, Moyers reached music success on her own. Recording for the album began in 2004, solely financed by Moyers who maintained full creative control and ownership of the project. Written entirely by Moyers, her collection is the ultimate last word for things left unsaid.
An album begun by heartbreak and loss, Moyers offers a fearless perspective on moving up and moving on with original tracks like “Into Loving You†and “Wedding Wishes.†While these titles may seem sweet, Moyers’ lyrics are anything but with lines like, “I know that in the public eye you’re not that great†and “as tears subside your wife sleeps alone in bed.†The album is available through Rhapsody, Amazon.com, and iTunes in Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States with limited print distribution in select markets.
Sought after for years by top modeling agencies, Moyers enjoyed a stint as a runway/fashion model before immersing herself in a lifelong passion for music. Moyers is the third person in her family to attend and graduate from University, preceded by her great-great aunt and her maternal grandmother to whom she remains close. During University, Moyers journeyed to Durban, South Africa for charity work in AIDS orphanages while leading female empowerment seminars and youth leadership camps. These experiences provided the inspiration for “Punk Rock Show.â€
Post South Africa, Moyers endured a career in public affairs, fielding legislation for online safety, education, and transportation before transitioning to cold case criminal investigation and a music career. In reaction to the sordidness of public affairs, Moyers wrote the song “Justice Will Prevail.†During this time, Moyers also wrote the song “Pieces,†an experience she refers to as her first real relationship.
For Moyers, life experiences and music go hand in hand. A bright star on the horizon, we watch with anticipation as her talent unfolds.
