About:
Wine, Women & Song (WW&S), founded by Susan Z in 1998, is a series of benefit concerts to raise money for local breast cancer charities. Concerts are held throughout the year with the help of volunteer musicians, staff, and local venues providing a place to perform. Our focus is to benefit those charities that provide breast cancer research, education and direct patient services. Past events have benefited The American Cancer Society, Bread & Roses, Marin Breast Cancer Council/Rally for the Cause, and Marin Breast Cancer Watch.
History:
Susan came up with the idea while performing at the B.R. Cohn winery in Sonoma County. Her mother was undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer at the time, and she had just lost her stepmother to a brain tumor only a few months prior. The famous Shakespearean line "Wine, Women & Song" came to mind while looking out at the vineyards."
Since the First Concert:
Since the first show in 1998, WW&S has raised over $55,000 for local breast cancer charities and has formed a loyal core of volunteers. Our performances have spanned many musical genres over the years and we continue to add more. After the first year, Susan, Jodi Alperstein, Austin Wondolowski, and Ualtar O'Regan created, produced and funded the first WW&S compilation CD. The CD features eighteen artists all volunteers from previous shows who donated one song each to the project. The result is the best compilation CD out there, with top notch Bay Area performers from several different genres. Keep watching for future compilation releases.

Breast of Broadway:
The year 2004 saw a new type of performance for Wine, Women & Song. The Breast of Broadway is a musical journey through the classics of Broadway. The shows begins with a reception where you can enjoy wonderful appetizers and drinks, view silent auction prizes, and mingle with our cast members.
