Formed as a whole band early december 06, Harvey Steals Band are 4 boys from Northamptonshire/Peterborough are, heavily influenced by all different walks of music. HSB have been going strong for over a year and a bit now and after only 2 gigs they headlined the met lounge Peterborough, following in the footsteps of the view, libertines and the pigeon detectives. Other bands HSB have shared the stage with include: Peggy Sue and the Pirates, Wheatus, OPM and The Others. Band memebers are singer/songwriter/bassist Harvey Steele, drummer Luke Dickens, lead guitarist Samuel Gough and rhythm guitarist/backing vocals Matt Reid.
The band is soon to complete their first demo which will be sold in Sonicboom, Kettering and there's always a few going round at gigs.
The band is currently playing gigs about Peterborough and Stamford/Northamptonshire area but are looking to move outwards so if you wanna be kept posted about future gigs keep in touch through the myspace.
Harvey Steals Band, a young 4 piece band from Thrapston had my attention from beginning to end. Thier set list was varied and left me wanting to hear more. Thier style took us from ska to indie with a touch of rock thrown in. There was a wide selection of rhythms, some of which were very complex and intersepted within each song, from the metaphorical 'Angry Pirates' to the full blown 'Sing Me Songs Of The Right and Wrongs'. The encore was a very good cover of Ace of Base's 'All That She Wants'. This is certainly a band to watch for in 2008.
