Influences: All music that passes my ears, love it, like it or hate it, has an influence on me …but not nearly as much as the laughter of a child, the kindness of a stranger, tears of a friend, longing whole notes of a cello, storybooks and fairytales, a cool breeze through an open window, a yellow butterfly waiting on a leaf, campfires, geese flying south, Beethoven, strength that oozes from women I am blessed to know, hot fudge sundaes and bubble baths (at the same time), girly movies, Saturday morning lattes, attics, a new journal, early morning cries of a loon, innocence of children, courage of the sick, memories of those taken, city lights, prairie skies, mountain hikes, spring, old letters from friends, family get togethers, different cultures and customs, outdoor skating rinks, rosy cheeks, a perfect math equation, little things he does without even knowing, squirrels chasing each other, loyalty of elephants, the mystery of dolphins, being lonely, old family recipes written in Grandma’s handwriting, eyes that smile, dreams… ones you don’t want to wake up from and great songwriters playing great songs that make you stop and stay perfectly still… so still you forget to breathe.
