I grew up in a Christian home. My parents and I went to church most weeks. I didn’t get a lot out of church. I was bored, mostly. My parents were unable to answer questions I had regarding if God was real or not. My vacation Bible school teacher avoided my question. I’m the type of person who needs to know because I want to know. I would not take your word for it, because I want to find out for myself. It was hard for me to believe in something I could not see. The Bible did not make any sense to me. I decided to daydream and tune out church while I was there. This went on for years. I then decided to not talk or sing during church. At that time, if you would have come up to me and mention God, I would tell you to shut up and to change the subject because I didn’t want to hear it. I was 18 when I realized that God was real and that I needed His help to live my life. He forgave me of my sins and helped me change my behavior. Before I knew God, I swore all the time. Slowly and surely, God had me stop swearing. I had a lot of hate from being made fun up from the end of 2nd grade to 8th grade. God helped me forgive them and to trust people. God has helped me get over many of the problems I had and helped me look at situations in another way. I’m so glad that Jesus died for my sins.
