Blind was formed in 2001 when Peter Karlsson and Kim Lindstén found each other in the musical jungle of Älmhult, Sweden. At the time, Peter already had 19 years of experience playing with numerous bands of various rock genres and Kim was the guitarist in another band called Darkened. The two decided to commit to Blind and, together with bassist Johan Bergqvist also from Darkened, the new band came to life.
For the next three years, Blind experimented with different sounds within the rock/metal genres. They finally found their unique sound in 2004 when they recorded the demo Burn It into Me in Mystical Arts Studio in Malmö, Sweden. In 2006, the demo Confessions from the Heart was recorded in Panic Room Studios in Skara, Sweden and, with this release, the band started receiving quite a bit of attention from record labels, radio stations, and concert promoters.
2007 was an eventful year for Blind. Among other exciting endeavors, they were the opening act for Crash Diet and Mustasch at Folkets Park in Huskqvarna, came second in rock radio station Bandit’s competition Bandit Unsigned, and performed at the famed rock club The Underworld in London. In 2008, Blind made it to the national finals in Bandit Unsigned for the second year in a row and had the chance to perform in renowned venues such as KB in Malmö and Nalen in Stockholm.
Over the years, various band members have come and gone as the band’s sound has changed and developed to become what it is today, but, with the current line-up, Blind is stronger than ever and looking forward to an exciting and successful future!
