Rancour was formed in late 1994. Had Adnan, Yuzaimi Zainal and Bob, decided to start a band as they shared same interest and love for music. They started jamming to covers of alternative bands like Radiohead, Weezer and Cranberries. After a while, they got heavily influenced by the sounds of bands like Sex Pistols, Screeching Weasel, Gold Finger and Green Day.Somewhere around late 1995, Shahreil Aziz joined the trio and when BOB had to leave the band, Haszli Ahmad stepped in and to cover the 4 strings. From then on, Rancour focused on their own tunes and sound.Active participation in local gigs followed after 1996. They played at venues like The Substation, Guiness Theatre, The ArtHouse, Community Centres, Clubs, Bars and and as well as parks. The band also had the opprtunity to perform across the causeway for a Mod's Day show.Thinking that they need a ground to analyze how far they have come and how much further they need to push themselves, they took part in band competitions as well. Band Alert 2000, Battle of the Beatles to name a few saw Rancour qualifying as far as the Semi Final round only.In 2006, after years and months of battling school, National Service, job hunting, break-ups, engagements, tears and blood they realesed their debut album entitled "Last Cabin" With the release of the album, they had the chance to the a small self supported promo trip to Hong Kong where they received good response and support from the local gig goers there.2008 marks a new beginning for the four lads. They took part in a Band Competition, Anugerah Band 08 organized by TV Channel Suria. After months of battling it out, they emerged as the winners of the competition.Presently, Rancour is busy with preparations and all is going good for the boys.
