I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy. His name is Robert Glenn Pike meaning brilliant natural wonder, and that’s exactly what he is, a brilliant natural wonder. From the first glimpse when he opens his eyes in the morning until the last cooo when he sings himself to sleep for the night he couldn’t be more perfect. I know you must think that every mother feels this way, indeed they may. Regardless, my baby boy is really beyond wonderful, beyond what I had ever even imagined possible, beyond any describable perfection.
Baby Robert is a very sweet boy. He waves to nearly every truck or stranger that passes by. He is so full of love, and constantly finding new ways to express it. He runs up to me and wraps his arms around my legs squeezing as tight as possible and gazing up with those big, green eyes. I always have to stop what I’m doing just to bend down and hug him too. Recently he began a new tactic for releasing me of whatever household chore or homework I was attempting. When he sees that I am busy he kneels on the ground and kisses my feet! Where he learned this I’ll never know. It is so incredibly sweet, he even kissed his grandmother’s feet a couple of times. The first time, she was so impressed she called me, while I was in class, to tell me about it. The last time, we were visiting his grandfather in the hospital. As I talked to Robert’s grandmother she began to cry. Knowing just what to do about it, Robert knelt down and kissed her feet again.
Just the other day I noticed he had learned another adorable new trick. He walked up to me and asked for a cup of water, so I gave it to him. About thirty seconds later, he wanted more. Knowing he must have spilled the first cup, I still gave him more. I was attempting to finish washing the dishes when he asked for more again. I wondered where he was making such a puddle and snuck behind him after filling the cup for the last time. To my surprise, my little angel was watering the plants in our sunroom. He had barely spilt a drop. I’m sure you can’t imagine how proud I felt of him.More recently:
Robert says "You see that tractor honey?" I say "Yeah, I see it" as we're driving along. He tells me "It's pretty, I wanna ride one." lol, he's so cute calling me honey and darling I just love everything he says.
