Since cutting his teeth on the Nashville music scene, Toluenes vocalist & songwriter Jamon Scott has narrated his tales of love and alcohol on stages from Asbury Park, N.J. to Los Angeles, CA including the legendary Rainbow Room on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. With comparisons to John Mellencamp, Jimmy Buffet and Steve Earle, the self-proclaimed southwest band from the southeast is a 2009 Hossey Music Award finalist and the official spokeshombres for Kentucky's own Ale 8 One soft drink.
" . . . The Ramones meet Tom T. Hall. ", " . . . a band with an attitude that's all beer and backbone. " and " . . . one of those rare bands that makes you feel good, thoughtful and contemplative all at the same time. " are just a few of the words reviewers have used to describe The Toluenes. Their new disc, "Cervezas, Senoritas, Etc., Etc.", was recorded in Nashville and co-produced by Jim Allison, who wrote such hits as Reba McEntire's What Am I Gonna Do About You and LeAnn Rimes' Fade To Blue.
The Toluenes also made their small screen debut in the 2007 Indie Gathering winner for best t.v. pilot, Bottle Rockets. In addition to co-writing and co-starring in the episode, Jamon performs several songs, as well. Bottle Rockets was screened at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and garnered top awards at the 2009 Las Vegas International Film Festival, the Accolade Television Awards and the World Independent Film Expo.
