Being an only child and stricken in poverty in some of Dallas' most violent areas Cyris found many ways to survive and adapt along the way. By age 17 Cyris having overcome various trials and tribulations, he found his calling in music, participating in over 60 well known freestyle battles. Cyris soon joined off the hook records in 1998 and began a long list of appearances in the Dallas mixtape circuit. In 2000 Cyris began his campaign with now Orlando Florida based Top Dawg Records as he recorded 5 mixtapes in which he was featured in the "City of Killas" volumes which have sold 75,000 copies to date. In 2002 Cyris created Eternal Records, in which he and childhood friend Sin managed. In November 2005 Cyris released the southside militia mixtape in which he became notoriously known for his relentless lyrics and smooth flow causing a buzz in the streets with Street Anthems like "My side" and "My Black Gat". Til this day Cyris has worked and collaborated on more than 45 mixtapes all across the nation and has brushed shoulders with some of Hip Hop’s biggest names. In the past years Cyris has gathered a large following with performance all across the south west and even international exposure, a unique situation considering no radio play in his hometown of Dallas yet has been featured in radio stations in Toronto Canada and Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
