About Me

As he continues on the musical path of greatness with a new name, Scepta is humbled by years of his experience, yet charged with sharing the knowledge he has gained.

All praises due to The Most High, Jah Rastafari, revealed in the personality of H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie I. King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Much thanks to Dr. Vernon Carrington a.k.a. Prophet Gad for gathering The Twelve Tribes of Israel, once scattered, now gathered and functioning internationally.
Scepta has done it again with his latest song titled "Mount Zion Street", featuring Bazil Gayle which is a genius collaboration
He started his musical career where he grew up as a youth in Jamaica. In those days he was known as DJ Ziggy Rankin, and played on various sound system including the one and only Jack Ruby Sound. Later on he co-owned Culture Roots International Sound system. His family migrated to the United States when he was a teenager and more doors of opportunity opened. With his love for music, he eventually transitioned into a singing career and has appeared on various venues including Summer Reggae Culturama, and Jam Fest, performed in places like Montreal, Jamaica, Grenada, Canada, and he even toured with Soul Jahs Band. He graced the same stage with artists such as; Dennis Brown, Sanchez, Beenie Man, Cocoa Tea, Anthony B, Spragga Benz. Marcia Griffith, Yellow Man, Screechy Dan, Shaggy, and Brigadier Jerry to name a few.
A member of The Twelve Tribes of Israel, Scepta identifies himself from the Tribe of Benjamin, (Heb. son of the right hand; son of good fortune; son of prosperity; son of happiness; son of the youth, i.e. productiveness.)
Better than ever, this veteran singer/songwriter brings consciousness to the forefront on the Shine Your Light compilation CD on the Orthodox Muzik label.
