Oscar de la Rosa
Oscar de la Rosa began his professional career in the early 80s in Houston, Texas. He is one of the original members of the world-renowned Latin musical group, La Mafia. Overtime, Oscar developed a unique vocal style. His now trademark textured voice has allowed him to release his passion for the Ballad. As a member of La Mafia, he has shared in receiving multiple award nominations including the Latin Grammys. The awards include winning the Grammy® Awards twice, 1 Latin Grammy, multiple Univisions Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, and many more. Oscars Grammys® are on display at the Hard Rock Café (Houston). As the lead vocalist of La Mafia, Oscar also received the Tejano Music Awards Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year in the 80s. His vocals and the awards have made Oscar de la Rosa a household name.
Today, Oscar is actively committed to his career and being a humanitarian. He is a supporter of the AIDS Foundation Houston, Spokesperson for the American Red Cross, and participates in many other charitable events. He has also established the Oscar de la Rosa Foundation to raise funds to assist these charitable organizations

Mission Statement
Oscar de la Rosa Foundation will heighten awareness of available resources for time of crises or need and create a venue for the enhancement and promotion of artistically gifted children.
The foundation continues raising funds to assist organizations such as the American Red Cross and the AIDS Foundation Houston. The foundation will also seek opportunities to provide artistically gifted children activities where they may enhance or promote their talents.
Events
In February of 2005, the foundation held its first event at The Gatsby. There was a VIP reception and a fashion show showcasing clothing by Lucho. There were special appearances by local celebrities, a silent auction, and much more. The money raised went for this great cause.
In June 2005, Oscar de la Rosa participated in a 3 day event that included the following:
June 12: Family Day in the Park at Miller Outdoor Theater
June 23: American Red Cross and Oscar de la Rosa Benefit Concert at the Verizon Wireless Theater
June 24: Red Cross Awareness Day at Jones Plaza
Other events such as the A Thriller Night were held in October and Jingle Bell Holiday Bash in December of last year.
