Major Seventh grouped at the University of Bath. The founding members were all from different parts of Asia (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan). After some jamming sessions in early 06 we decided to make some original material, initially working on songs Yoshi had.
They then went on to playing tons of student events in Bath and Bristol, and although it was not long since they met, they gained a reputation as one of the finest Uni bands around.
There was a line-up change in December 06; they now have the new drummer Lewis from Bath, who is very young AND talented. He brought some raw energy to the songs they have.
After a hardcore few months in early 07...(often including up to 10 hours of practice a week)...the band finally took a well-earned break; with exams, summer placements and holidays preventing any chance of practicing. It was a successful year for Major Seventh, playing more gigs than ever before and achieving a place in the Battle of the Bands final..
Major Seventh are now back together, have some bangin’ new tunes...and...a new member!
---Recent News---
*We are glad to announce the addition of Patrick Stacey to the band as the new lead singer! Yoshi remains in the band as guitarist so there is no need for his fans to wet their pillow. New lineup will bring even more energy to the already insane live performance which the band are known for.*
*New Song! In the style of the previous Japanese one we called derailed, currently only 2 non-band people have witnessed its greatness...look out for it at future gigs*
*December the 1st brings the fourth piece of the puzzle back to England! Hopefully, a whole new set of songs will be invented for 08!
*Major Seventh are on hiatus...but will be even more awesome when they’re all back together..
*Major Seventh put up a good fight in the battle of the bands final, but were defeated by the greatness that is Moondog Freed...fuck.
*Major Seventh won the third heat of Bath University Battle of the Bands!! They will be playing in the grand final, Tues 17th April.
*Recording session with BUMPS was this Saturday! The tunes will be made available on MySpace when they’re mixed!
