John Dalziel.......24........Coventry.........John started his broadcasting career at just twelve years old with a youth-orientated What’s On guide on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire. At just seventeen years old, John joined Kix 96.2fm (now Touch FM) taking the essential role of “Tea boy” on the breakfast show, before presenting the drive time show.After five years at Kix, John moved to Mercia FM (part of the GCAP media group) to present the area’s most-listened to drive-time show.This September his hard work was rewarded when he landed the flagship breakfast show on Mercia.Outside his radio broadcasting career John is prolific in his presenting work, especially with local events.He has been the match-day presenter for Coventry City F.C. since 2006 and the announcer for the Coventry Blaze ice hockey team’s matches for three seasons.A big supporter of all local events, John’s presenting work also includes: - International Children’s Games: opening and closing ceremonies - The Thunderball charity concert (Mercia) - The annual Christmas Light’s switch on in Coventry, Bedworth, Nuneaton, Leamington and Rugby. - Annual fund raising shows for Breast Cancer ResearchA popular local figure, John also DJs and hosts various club nights at venues throughout the region, including JJ’s (formally Jumpin Jaks), Lava & Ignite, (both part of Luminar Leisure), the Skydome Arena and the Colosseum.In front of the camera, John has appeared on Central News’ My Place feature, as well as ITV1’s CD:uk, Job Finder, and The Mag for Channel 5.John has done voice-over work for such companies as Odean Cinema and his corporate work includes films for The Learning and Skills Council and Ice Productions.John’s latest project, due for launch on October 5th 2007, is a new video podcast. 'JD Backstage'sees him interviewing the leading figures in the UK’s club scene and giving a weekly view into what’s happening across the country. This nationwide project is being made in conjunction with PPLParty.com and Nemsis Media.John has recently been recognised for all his work for the region by The Ambassadors Group, appointing him an official Ambassador for Coventry.
