Based in Malmö, Sweden the three-piece AHRM sprung from the indierockband Revolvo and shaped their music from influences in the indie and punk world. From 80's hardcore to 90's indie and post hardcore up to more recent music that combines all of the above.
The band went for a distorted analog sound as a reaction to the slick “big studio†productions that seemed to be the ideal when the band started out.
Set up in the control room of an old heavy metal studio they started to make vague sketches of feedback and short breakneck punk songs to finally come up with a contemporary feeling that they could capture on tape resulting in a three track promo simply called â€AHRMâ€. The recording was both retro, with a clear reference to the Washington DC sound that they all grew up with, as it had an updated approach with a Swedish twang to it.
After playing shows and trying out material on the punk and indie crowd they went in to the Revolvo studio to record a four-track ep titled “Staticletters ep“. The recording turned out much darker bringing in both post punk and hardcore influences into the mix. The band is currently booking shows and recording for a longer format trying to take their music into new realms.
