We are Gary and Marleen Ely. We are a small town couple, blessed with a wonderful daughter, Elizabeth Madison. We are solid Christians, and are actively involved in our church! I'm not your typical guy. I'm ridiculed and mocked for who I am at times...... but I see that as a blessing, so please, keep it coming. I'm saved by the grace of the love of my life..... Jesus Christ. I am fiercely loyal and completely sold out to the greatest cause this world has ever known. Christianity isn't just some afterthought to me. I don't go to church on Sunday and then call my faith off for the rest of the week. My walk is 24/7, and I will stand firm in my faith despite whatever comes against me. Yes, thats a very dangerous thing to say, because it entails taking on anything that life would dish out at me....... including facing death for the love of my God. I walk a precarious walk, but I will walk it in faith, and even though there's things that I'm afraid of happening to me, God eases those fears and gives me the peace and the confidence to continue on in Him. I see no better cause to live for, and no more worthy cause to die for. To be saved by grace is to be alive...... and I don't care what anyone else thinks of my boldness in speaking that. Christianity is life..... salvation is life...... the love of God is life. Without Him...... there's only suffering. Without Him...... we are dead. I will stand out and speak life, because its absolute truth. God is not an opinion or a theory. God is not something we conjured up one day. It's totally the opposite. God conjured us up. He created us...... He created the entire universe with just His spoken word, and then formed us out of the dust of this world. He took careful detail with each plant, each bird, each mammal..... and each human being. He created us in His likeness..... and gave us the ability to make our own choice to love Him for everything He has done for us. God made us...... He made us from the romantic notions of His heart. He walked with Adam in the garden... walked side by side with him and communed with him daily. We were created because God wanted companionship. When we lost that..... when man fell and sin entered the picture...... God made provisions for remission of sins...... and planned the eventual life and death and resurrection of His only begotten son, Jesus Christ. Through Jesus..... through acknowledgement of His sacrifice for us.... and acknowledgement of His resurrection power.... we can once again come into intimacy with God..... and that....... that is worth living for, and worth dying for. God.... all powerful, all knowing, all seeing God chose to become flesh and die so that we could continue to be spiritual lovers with Him. HOW AMAZING IS THAT? In a place where I could lift myself..... I lift my God..... because I only desire to become a reflection of the man whose blood atonement brought me back to intimacy with my Father. I hope that I will reflect Christ in the eyes of those who know me through myspace, and those who have met me elsewhere, online or offline. I discredit myself to stand in and stand out for Christ my Saviour...... He who is my comforter and my refuge...... the joy of my desire and the bold zealous fire that burns brightly in me. May all who read this be touched by the love of Jesus Christ!!
