Born and raised in beautiful Upstate New York in a log cabin with music flowing around everywhere, Angie's dad was in a bluegrass band, so she learned a bunch about folk singing and pot smoking from a really early age. She figured out she could sing when she was about seven with her rendiditon of Sesame Street's "Put Down the Duckie". After that it was a straight shot to the top! When she was about fifteen years old, she joined an amateur acting troupe and developed a love of being in the limelight. At around the same time she started performing with pianist Justin Francos in local coffee shops, and landed a gig as the lead singer of a Hardcore group called "Klusterfukk". They performed mothly at the university pub, and had a small a following of dirty punks with various identity crisis. Angie's junior year of highschool was spent in Brazil where learned a bunch of Bossa Nova songs and other hip-swinging latin stuff. She came to Boulder in '02, and met Francisco Marques with Ginga da Gringa, a Brazilian Bossa and Jazz/bues quintet. After they split up she sang some songs about lesbian pirates and then got pregnant.
Angie's unique sound and background give something that is a step apart from anything out there. Her gutteral vibrato can make you shiver, her smooth husky whisper can make you wish you were 23 again, and when she wails, hold onto your hats, hold onto your seats, hold onto your neighbors, because the earth will move and you're going with it.
Right now is a great time in Angie's life. She has finally embraced her talent and is ready to use it for whatever she can.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
