About Me

I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
A band with a long history, Jigsaw Republic is dedicated to forging new musical avenues. As a group, spontaneous, flowing improvisation is a large part of our collective psyche. Individually, we craft songs that reflect our diverse and wide ranging interests in music. From the purest roots of Mississippi delta blues, to the loftiest reaches of jazz thought, this band explores it all. Hard hitting, whiskey drinking rock and roll meets form considerations inspired by Ravel and Debussey. Careful, methodical tune smithing reminiscint of the brill building, meets crushing, overwhelming, industry inspired noise/musique concrete. Every member of this band has spent a lot of time in very diverse musical situations. The group is also an adept backing band, as has been proven with performances behind Danny Songhurst, Sean Flicky, and Don Goodwin, formerly of Flomotion. New recordings and live shows coming soon!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Josh Simon-Keys, Guitar, Vocals; Mike Frederick-Guitar, Vocals; Jimmie Denny-Bass, Vocals; Chris Teal-Drums.
Influences: The sounds of earth, and the sounds of man. We know no others.
Sounds Like: The sets get darker and darker these days. Sounds kind of like Mahavishnu Orchestra sharing a bill with the Tom Waits, the Allman Brothers and Frank Zappa. With everyone getting falling down drunk before the show (except for Zappa, of course.....).
