This site is created and maintained by Ira Forest Stanphill's grandson, Nathan David Forest Cole. Ira "went home" just a couple months shy of his 80th birthday in 1993. I figured since I'm becoming increasingly interested and proud of his music that I should find a way to share it. The first song featured on this profile is his original recording, and since most of his recorded music exists on vinyl I set up a microphone to my record player and created the mp3 that way. His song "Mansion Over The Hilltop" was recorded by Elvis in 1960, which I've included on this site, and can be found on several of his compilation cd's. Also, Johnny Cash recorded his song "Suppertime"... do you personally know anyone else who wrote songs that Jonny Cash or Elvis have recorded?? didn't think so. My grandpa (whom i gave the name popo, like "pop-o", when i could barely talk) was kind of a big deal.
