I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I began life in the mid-sixties being held upside-down and smacked hard across the bum. I've wandered through life in a state of perpetual confusion ever since. At the age of five I decided I wanted to be an actor, which is probably why I am now Technical Manager at a firm that specialises in the treatment of the invasive species Japanese knotweed, of which I am now something of an expert. Isn't it great when a plan comes together? (I wouldn't know). My other dream was to become a musician and songwriter - drummer and lyricist to be precise. I formed a band with my best friend at college and we were convinced we would set the world alight. We didn't, of course - probably because we started a prog rock band in the mid 80's when everything was techno and dancey. Or probably because we were crap.I even spent a year trying to be a full-time self-employed cartoonist. My spectacular failure to establish an acting career led to a growing interest in screenwriting - a dream I've concentrated on since the dawning of the new millennium (posh prose). Consequently I can currently be found scribbling down ideas in notebooks, sitting behind my pc (it's much more exciting that way - I can't see what I'm writing) and sending off scripts to anyone I think might be interested. You never know, one day I may even get one produced. I've even written a book on Japanese knotweed and am currently trying to find a publisher for it.Want to know more? Gosh, you don't have a life, do you? You could always check out the photos...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Lots of people, especially those I can get to know and have an intelligent conversation with. In particular, though, I'd love to meet any Script Editors, Directors or Producers who'd like to hire me!

TO ANYONE SENDING ME A FRIEND REQUEST - PLEASE READ: I'm on MySpace to give me an opportunity to 'meet' new people and build up some form of friendship. Friendships rely upon some kind of contact, however minimal, and consequently I'm likely to delete 'friends' who seem to have no interest in actually communicating with me and are more interested in impressing others with their high numbers of 'friends' on their page. Bottom line - if you don't actually want to get to know me don't bother sending a friend request!

PS. I rarely accept friend requests from bands I don't know so to all the musicians out there PLEASE stop sending me them!!

PPS. Just because I'm a male in my 40's doesn't mean I'm interested in being bombarded by thinly-veiled porn 'profiles' either. I'm getting sick of receiving about ten a week. You will all be deleted so save yourself (and me) the bother and send 'em to someone else instead!!!
