About Me

Back in the days of a pot and pan drum kit, Encore guitars and 25watt amps, Lost for words has steadily improved and upgraded, facing minor and major set backs to the development of the band. the band began as a 2 piece metal band with no experience or style, rhythm or anything for that matter. The band then underwent several changes which at one point saw the Drummer on bass guitar. Dave and Bog were in the band from the very beginning. the band as it stands now consists of both bog (drummer) Dave (guitar) Freemo (Bass/Backing vocals) Woody (guitar/vocals) and have now established themselves as a local band worthy of being staged on big events. the styles of music emphatically changed over the years. coming from an improv metal band- blink 182 tribute band to a new style of dark punk. Influences including AFI, Bad religion and some softer punk such as Green day. The songs have a strong scent of Alkaline trio. The band has been how it is now for around 9 months. and have already recorded 2 CD's (acoustic demo which consists of locals favourite song "Anne", "black feathers", "Married to a killer" and the CD would not be complete without a cover of those who they resemble... the popular "this could be love" By Alkaline trio. The Demo "Drinking from the lake" starts with a wierd and eerie intro which was designed by The Black Markets very own sound guy (he is a sound guy) Neil, which is an effective lead into the first actual track "Black feathers" this energetic start to the CD is then deliberately slowed down (so nobody gets hurt by becoming overly excited) by the slow track "married to a killer" After this, the tempo and energy are raised again with the popular "Anne" which is written under the influence of many illegal substances and funily enough... having visions of your Grandma Anne in the pond. the conclusion to the CD is a different style and is more pop punk to the rest of the songs. the last track entitled "no strings attatched" was named by both dave and Freemo snapping strings at the same time when writing it. Both CD's are for sale Â£2 or both for Â£4?

Band Members: Lost For Words David Freeman AKA Dave is the guitarist in the band. he has improved so much since the pots and pan days and has been a member since the beginning, as a matter of fact it is him that established the band so it is him you are to blame for this monstrosity we wish we could call music. Dave is 100% dedicated to the band and is the bands personal driver. In his Volkswagon Golf dave drives us around the country in search of those special nights where the lesbians dance at the front and everyone enjoys themselves. he needs to invest in a van because the Car is kind of cramped with 4 band members, Marshall combos and heads and cabs, bass amps and drum kits... guitars also. at one point you could see peoples feet out of the window... Daves musical influences are; Blink 182, Alkaline trio, Goldfinger, Metallica, millencollin, Rage against the machine,A.F.I, Crimson circle and alot of other stuff. Danny AKA Bog is the drummer of the band. He looks kind of like a frog or maybe that thing that lives in a dustbin on sesame street (congratulations to Amy from down under!). Bog is locally renound for his fast drum beats, crazy drum solos and wierd movements. aswell as his talking (we cant understand him), loosing drum sticks at every single gig, and never happy until he can prove he can drum faster than YOU.He likes bands such as blink 182, millencollin, alkaline trio, rage against the machine, slayer, the offspring, Bog loves Travis Barker and that is evident in his style and in his hair. Sam Wood AKA Woody is the youngest band member. however, despite his age he has a whole world of musical experience both on and off guitar and vocals. Woody's influences are bands such as lamb of god, alkaline trio and most metal bands. Woody loves to keep the rest of the band members on edge, either by nearly dying while playing one of our tracks "bruises" or only just making it in time for a gig, this one keeps you on your toes! Mark Freeman AKA Freemo is the bass guitarist of the band. He is the newbie in the band. Freemo doesnt like sticking to the bass lines of any songs and soetimes improvises even in the largest of gigs, when it works everybody is happy, most of the time he doesnt pull it off though. his influences are; Alkaline trio, Dan andriano, Blink 182, Millencollin, ramones, Goldfiger, AFI, Bad religion, Hot water music and lots of others TO CONTACT US E-MAIL: [email protected] or [email protected]We are listed in Gig-Guide.Co.UK
