Pastor Ben Long

Pastor Benjamin F. Long, Jr., is the senior pastor and founder of the Rehoboth Light of the World Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of Ceola and the late Deacon Benjamin F. Long, Sr.Pastor Long recognized that God’s hand was upon his life since elementary school. The realization of that calling has helped Pastor Long to know that God has placed a mandate upon his life that identifies with the scripture that says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4, 18-19)As a young man, Pastor Long was nurtured at the Pentecost Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Charles E. Fletcher. Pastor Long began his journey under this ministry in 1974. Since that time, it has become evident that he was being prepared for a greater work as directed by God. While a part of this ministry, Pastor Long has served in various positions to the Glory of God.His zeal and desire to save lost souls led him to become a part of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Baltimore County in Edgemere, Maryland under the leadership of Bishop Heber M. Brown, Jr. While fellowshipping with this ministry Pastor Long served in various capacities including Assistant to Bishop Brown. It was while serving under the ministry of Bishop Brown that the vision was given by God to launch out in ministry.Pastor Long holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Science from Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He also holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond Virginia.Pastor Long strives to live a life of integrity because of the principles of God’s word and the condition of the church in our time. He understands that it is not enough to talk what he believes but that he must also walk what he believes. It is with that understanding that he will continue to preach Christ and Him Crucified. Pastor Long is also blessed with the privilege and opportunity to be the husband of his beautiful wife, Tammy and father of his beautiful daughters, Kiersten and Kayla. Rev. Long is a bold believer of the scripture that states, "He who has begun a good work in you shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)
