ESTHER MILES - Vocals:
Canterbury born, Esther Miles has been singing professionally since she was 15. Having studied with some of Britains top jazz singers, including Louise Gibbs and Norma Winstone, Esther has fronted bands all over the country and the southeast at events such as the Canterbury Festival and the Shoreham Festival. She has also toured internationally with her own jazz quartet having played at Disneyland in Paris and for the Queen at her Jubilee celebrations in 2002. She is currently studying music at Goldsmtihs College in London. :
MATTHEW MILES - Tenor Saxophone:
Although English born, Matthew Miles has only been based in London since 2003, previously having lived and worked in Australia. Only 20 years of age, Matthew has toured internationally having studied and workshopped with the likes of Ron Carter, Tim Garland, Dave OHiggins and Loren Schoenberg at the Lincoln centre in New York City. Since arriving in London he has playing in various musical settings including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as well as session work. He his currently studying jazz performance and composition at Goldsmiths College in London.:
ADAM BEHRENS - Guitar:
Canadian born freelance guitarist Adam Behrens has been based in London since 1996. He has performed in a wide variety of musical styles. Bands hes worked with include the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Jimmy Canon Big Band, Jazz 251 and the Big Man and Hiss Band (a function Band employing some of the UKs top call musicians. Last year he appeared at the Brecon Jazz Festival playing for up and coming jazz/blues singer Ruth Hamilton. Over the last year he has performed in pit bands for musicals around the country. He has also done numerous recording sessions for pop and jazz projects. He also teaches privately.:
CHARLIE ANDERSON - Bass:
Charlie Anderson studied jazz at Chichester College and has performed with Bonny Wellins, Holly Slater, Tom Crawley and Charlotte Glasson. Whilst in Brighton he formed his own ensemble, the Charlie Anderson Jazz Quintet, and was a member of the Robbie Richardson Trio, Rockin in Rhythm, and Djangology. After moving to London he performed with Bridgette Beraha and joined the Chad Lelong Trio. He has performed at a number of functions for dignitaries such as Bill Clintin, Kkofi Annan, Geoffrey Howe and Tony and Cherie Blaire and has performed at numerous venues across London such as the Jazz Caf and The Spitz. Also a member of Wilding & Co. and the folk group Stone Rogues. Currently a student at Goldsmiths College.:
ADRIAN LAWRENCE - Drums:
Canadian born, Adrian has played and studied in a variety of settings in Canada and in the UK. Throughout his 20 years of playing experience Adrian has spent two taking a Diploma in Jazz History Theory in Vancover and has played with, amongst others, Spirit of the West, Tounde-Kunda (Senagalese musician) and Kevin Davy from Lamb. He has also done a variety of TV work including: Top of the Pops, The Pepsi Chart Show and CD UK.:
