My Interests

Horseback riding both trail and trying to break into the show world, Backpacking (especially along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Penninsula), Photography (I got my first photo published in a book earlier this year!!),Update!! Just found out that a second photo of mine will be published in a different book coming out in early 2008!! Dog shows, Training my female Great Dane Syren, Golfing (I've got the clubs and took a pro lesson..but I'm still AWEFUL), Throwing darts (went to Las Vegas for National Tournement in may 2005), Dancing either stone sober or sloppy drunk (one's a lot more fun for spectators), Doing projects around the house and yard because something ALWAYS needs to be done...like planting new grass..damn dog! :-) Fishing as long as I'm catching something and not losing my lures left and right on weeds...uggh, Monday night football (Colts, Steelers, Partiots..and of course the Lions), Piston's Basketball, Skydiving is fun too...but very expensive. I used to be an avid volunteer at the local animal shelter and raise foster puppies before I moved out of town...I miss it often. I have a passion for writing just about anything, be it a personal letter or an english paper, I love to paint though I'm not all that good at that either.. I do a pretty nice sunset though! I enjoy trying just about anything new...I love meeting different people from different places. If it'll culture me...I'm in.

Shoffstall--- ....... ....... ....... ........ After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't always mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child and you learn to build your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure you really are strong and you really do have worth and you learn and you learn with every goodbye, you learn...

Music:

If I can dance to it...I like it... I'm a big hip hop fan but I listen to almost anything, even classical, jazz or techno. I love Counting Crows and Lifehouse too...I don't care much for hard stuff like metal and you won't catch me listening to much country, though I suppose it's not all THAT bad.

Movies:

Oh this is a hard one...I generally like movies that are a little different.. Such as: Pan's Labrynth,Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, Memento, Go, Vanilla Sky, Run Lola Run, just to name a few. I also liked: The Painted Viel(and most anything with Edward Norton!!), Sideways, The Count of Monte Cristo, Troy, Liar Liar (along with most of Jim Carrey's earlier, crazier work), The Lord of the Rings movies, The Gift, Sweet November, Thomas Crown Affair, Legends of the Fall, Braveheart, Patriot, Radio, Everafter, Seabiscuit, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemtion, Pirates of the Carribean, The Others, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Princess Bride, The Labrinth, and countless more that I can't think of right now...

Television:

I refuse to pay for cable so I've got this mondo sized antenae on top of the house and I now get like 10 channels!!! I don't spend much time watching TV but I do watch Cold Case on CBS and Young and the Restless on CBS from time to time. And I guess anytime I get a chance to catch a good football game... If I did have cable I'd probably watch Discovery, History and other such channels.

Books:

I read a lot of books related to all aspects of horse ownership whether it's about being a better rider or saddle breaking my 2 year old. I've also read quite a lot about dogs.. the different breeds as well as training manuals. I've got a good collection of "quotable quote" books too. As far a reading for pleasure I am a big fan of Dean Koontz... I think I've got just about everything he's ever written. I've got some Stephen King also. I just finished a book by Stel Pavlou called Decipher...wow..fantastic read!! And it's not a book..but I read Discover magazine faithfully...(it's a science mag) Yes.. I am a dork.

Heroes:

Oh Jeez...probably my mom would be my biggest hero. She worked so hard and sacrificed so much her whole life just so I could grow up happy. I didn't realize it then. I don't know how many times she handed me her last five dollars so I could have money for school or put gas in my car. Thank you mom!!!
