DJ Kanga has been brought up around music since he was a baby. His serious passion for it began when he was 12 when he bought his first set of decks. Falling in love with UK Garage from the off he has a very wide selection and vast collection of it.
He got his first break within 12 months of starting to DJ on Londons PASSION 91.8fm with a guest show. From there it has been a very productive and long path that is still continuing to grow. After the guest show on PASSION he went on to SMOOVE 104.0fm for 7 months where he held the Sunday Morning 8-10 show. Because of his age he fell out with the management there and left. Straight away he went back to the PASSION stables and this is where he would stay ...........! Starting off with his infamous 'Weekend Wake Up Shows' every Saturday and Sunday mornings 6-10. He held this show ................. During this time he had regular sets at the successful night 'Masquerade' which was held at the Opera House in North London working alongside his favourite DJ's and MC's such as; EZ, Mikee B, Jason Kaye, Lady Spirit, Sublo, X-Ray, B-Live, CKP, Image and many more.
Progressing through the ranks of the radio station he was given more oppertunities to do cover shows and and move his shows to better times. His 'Sunday Showcase Show' (Sunday 4-6pm) became more infamous then the 'Weekend Wake Up Shows'. From this show he landed many more DJ bookings and was able to progress much futher in the DJ world. During his time on PASSION he had many guests come on up his shows such as, B-Live, Image, MC Ultra, Mr Buzzhard, Sherman (Public Demand) and more. His passion for music and younger age made him a recognisable name in the ever growing UK Garage scene.
After ....... his time came to depart the PASSION FM camp when a new music policy was introduced. He still remains ...............with everyone there and you can still hear him playing Jackin', Brokenbeat, Deep and Underground house flavours.
His love of UK Garage took him to Shine 87.9 FM for a brief period where he held the Tuesday 10-12 pm show. He was to stay ............. From SHINE he had a break from radio concentrating on other goals. He is now part of Londons only 24/7 UK Garage station SUBJAM 104.7fm. When he joined SUBJAM FM he brought back the infamous 'Showcase Show' which takes place ................................. where he showcases the very best in new skool UK Garage. He has made an inpact on this staion with his loud antics and late night shows which he gets the listeners involved.
On Sunday afternoons bewtween 4-6pm you can now catch DJ Kanga back on Londons Heavyweight PASSION 91.8fm with the original 'Sunday Showcase Show' playing the best in, jackin', deep, underground house and broken beats.
DJ Kanga has also been nominated in the UK Garage Awards 2004 for 'Best Newcomer DJ' where he came 5th.
DJ Kanga just came 2nd in Best Newcomer DJ @ the 'Musik 4U Awards 2006'. Many thanks to those that voted.
