DJ VICIOUS representing Montreal, Canada
immerged into the Urban and Indian Music Industry and established himself as
Montreal's Crowd Pleaser DJ.
It was in 1996, when Vicious first popped in a remix tape and was fascinated by
how songs can actually be manipulated and blended with each other. He was
growing up listening to famous local DJs who promoted events and played at
various gigs in town. He was also influenced by his listener in crime, DJ
KNIGHT, who also shared the same passion. In 1997, Vicious worked all summer to
finally purchase himself equipment and start collecting vinyl. His mom then came
up with a deejay name "VICIOUS" which he thought was quite catchy and rugged and
now has branded it as an industry standard coming from MTL.
As time passed by, that rugged name was tagged along due to his mixing style and
enticed many at private parties. At the prime age of 17, he was ready for the
mainstream party mass. Local and International promoters booking him at various
gigs in town for clubs such as Groove Society, Van Gogh's, Sessions & Opium. In
1999, he paired up with his in-house studio guru, Master D, and released
"Montreal's first Most Finest" Indian remix CD, Insomnia. It was the top 3
seller for a remix premier going head-to-head with DJ Mookhie (India) and the
BMW remix series. In 2000, I:3-Final Insomnia raised the bar and sold
over 6000 units + Bootlegged versions across Canada & U.S.A laying down the
Montreal essence to listeners.
Ever since, DJ VICIOUS is one of North America's most sought after deejays and
has opened for various artists in the Urban and Desi Music Industry. Opening for
MTV's FunkMaster Flex, Ruff Ryder's Jin the MC, Apache Indian,
Panjabi MC, Sean Paul and Sukhbir has made him gain vast knowledge
in the music business.
DJ VICIOUS has been ramming parties from cities
like Toronto, Ottawa, Chicago, New York, Detroit and Florida to name a few and
has always guaranteed party hype! His mainstream urban releases, Imperial pt.1
and pt.2 both featured exclusive heavy hitter artists such as Kardinal Offishall,
Jin from Ruff Ryders, Sean Paul, Chayya, TVT Records Pitbull, Wayne Wonder,
Fatmanscoop, Frank & Dank, Juggy D, Jay Sean & Elephant Man. Vicious has been
doing cross over remix mixtapes way before the mainstream explosion moving over
1000+ units and he is set on releasing newer concepts to stay ahead of the game.
Today, DJ VICIOUS is found deejaying at clubs such as Orchid, Atlantis,
Copacabana, Medley, 737 and the list goes on but his hustle doesnt stop there.
In 2002, he was part founder of an entertainment company, Party Patrol
Entertainment, which was established as Montreals leader in entertainment media
that covered many aspects of Montreals Nightlife, Canadian artists and concerts
which lead to many other companies trying to follow the trend. Vicious then
moved on in 2004, to pursue his movement deeper in the music industry and
established THE BILZ, which consists of DJ VICIOUS & MASTER D. The
duo then made history by being the first in Montreal to sign a release on AV8
Records entitled "GET CONVERTED..IN DA CLUB", which sold over 2000
units across North America and Europe. They soon got chosen to remix Keshia
Chantés single, Does he Love Me ft. Foxy Brown that was officially
released and distributed on BMG records. In addition, Vicious & Master D
produced a Reggaeton remix for Canadian artist, Chantal Chamandy's Billboard
charting track "You Want Me" which is climbing Latin R&R charts to its
current ..7 position!
THE BILZ have also earned medium rotation on Adil Ray's, Rishi Rich's
Kiss100 & Punjabi Hit Squad's Radio stations on BBC 1xtra and building
credentials on their belt. Vicious is set to put Montreal (MTL) on the
map for the years to come
