I am here for Friends

About Me

Hold your breath and count to 10... fall appart and start again...
I'm just like you, except a little more twisted on the inside...
Ok, so that’s a lie. Even I'm not sure what I'm like on the inside, because I rarely bother to figure out what I'm feeling, let alone let others in on it. Even here on the internet I don’t bother to write out exactly what I’m feeling or thinking most of the time. But… I think I’m better online than off. I’m also better with a pen. Or so I’ve been told.
I tend to be blunt, it sometimes gets me into trouble, and it quite often gets me called an ass. I don't like a lot of people, but I want a lot of people to like me. It's a conundrum that I've yet to figure out. Deal with it.
Fun Factoids: I watch General Hospital, think mint chocolate chip icecream was sent here by God just for me, dance half naked to the dumbest commercials, will try just about anything once, have a insane desire to become Gregory house, and still watch cartoons.
I’d say that’s me in a nutshell, but I don’t think I can fit into one.

My Interests

We're getting kind of personal here, aren't we? I mean we haven't even been out on our first date yet.
I'm really into reading, making fun of others, and most "real" sports. I'm also into having a good time with friends and family.
There, that seems like the typical generic response most people give, right?I'd also like to point out I'm a world class beat-box performer, and you can catch my nightly act on just about any street corner after 12 or so beers.

Tomorrow.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

First off, I need to give a shout-out to two local bands whom I am very close to, and they happen to rock serious ass. The Desert Red and the Brink. Check them both out, or face my wrath. Yes, they are on Myspace, and yes, they are in my friends list. Now quit being so lazy and check them out already. Not only are they great musicians, but they also happen to be some of the best guys you'll ever get a chance to meet.
Now, here's a list of just some of what you can find me rockin' out to while chasing down villains in a grey hoodie and purple swim-trunks: Hootie & the Blowfish, Skynard ,The Doors, Ernie Halter, Elliott Smith, Deathcab for Cutie, Fallout boy, Panic! At the Disco, Damien Rice, Tool, APC, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Placebo, Rush, Pink Floyd, The Hush Sound, Ben Folds, Ernie Halter, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Boys II Men, Shai, Three Doors Down, Bright Eyes, Beastie Boys, Weezer (blue album only, fuck pinkerton and beyond), Counting Crows, Skynard ,The Doors, The Alman Brothers, CCR, Andrew K, Mogwai (admittedly only when around a few select friends who listen to it), N.W.A, RATM, David Bowie, Boston, Journey, Foreigner, Silverchair, Depeche Mode... Oh hell, I could never list everything I'll listen to. That's just too long a list. Basically anything other than country, most "top 40" stuff that's out now, and any rap made in the last decade.

Movies:

The Secret of NIMH, Aladdin, Goonies, Big, Gremlins 1 and 2, Good Will Hunting, Rudy, The Sandlot, Ferris Buelers Day off, Clerks, Dogma, The entire Rocky Series (I-IV and Balboa, V never happened), Cube, Labyrinth, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, AI, Big Fish, With Honors, awww hell, this would take too long just like the "music" thing would.

Television:

I basically only watch DBZ, and anything that has a hospital in it. Something on one of the Learning channels tends to be nice too.

Books:

I'll read anything, but I particuarly love anything written by either John Irving (specifically, in no order, the Water Method Man, The World According to Garp, and A Prayer for Owen Meany), or Stephen King (In the Eyes of the Dragon comes readily to mind, but no one seems to know he wrote this fantastic book).Just recently I read, "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk. If that book isn't an indication of a fucked up childhood, I don't know what is. Apparently I've missed my calling; I was supposed to be a writer.

Heroes:

Where have all the good men gone and where are all the gods?I'm still accepting applications for this position. Feel free to send me your resume.

Getting my sorry ass back in shape (how the mighty have fallen)

So at the beginning of March, I had finally had enough. I felt, in my mind, I had let my body pretty much wither away, and with going back to School, as well as taking care of my Dad, and work, and so...

The Mounting Pressures of not succumbing to failure.

Late last night I received an all too familiar call from my Mother. Apparently my father decided that a Bottle of Southern Comfort was just too damned delicious to pass up, and after drinking himself ...

Myspace and why it may be the Devil.

So I was looking back at my past blogs, and couldn't help but notice a good deal of them looked like grammatical garbage. Mind you, I'm not an English Professor, but I do at least attempt to employ a...

And so I run...

I took up running again. Once, a long, long, long time ago (and perhaps, in a galaxy not so far away) this was something I would do quite often, and was damned good at it. OF course, I had to be....
