Born James Haun in Bingham Canyon, UT. Rouvaun moved to Los Angeles in the 1950's to pursue a career in music. Trained in classical opera by Mario Chamlee, an understudy of Caruso, Rouvaun was first discovered by Norman Kaye (of the Mary Kaye Trio) and recorded an album on the independent Kalamo label in 1966. This led to a lucrative 3 year contract at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas headlining the Casino De Paris. Six RCA record albums followed with numerous television appearances and world tours earning legions of loyal fans and critical acclaim. In 1973 Rouvaun released what was to be his last recording, "The Lord's Prayer" on his own Bue-Vaun label. A fitting bookend to an amazing but all-too-brief career, he succumbed to a devastating illness in 1975. None of his records have yet to be reissued on CD.

The Dunes Implosion from 10/27/93. It was the first of the classic Strip hotels slated for demolition and marked an end of an era in Las Vegas history. For my family, it was hard to see her go.
