Debuto en el cine con un pequeno papel en Dos corazones y un tango (1942) y su carrera tomo un impulso definitivo al ao siguiente, a partir de su intervencion, al lado de Maria Felix, en Dona Barbara. Despues tuvo ocasion de trabajar en Hollywood y en nuestro pais alterno con las grandes figuras de los aos cuarenta y cincuenta, como Jorge Negrete, Mario Moreno Cantinflas, Arturo de Cordova y Pedro Armendariz, en una trayectoria que se extendio por mas de tres decadas y en la que participo en mas de un centenar de cintas. Reconocida como una de las grandes estrellas de la llamada Epoca de Oro, tomo parte en titulos como: Asi se quiere en Jalisco (1942), La trepadora (1944), La perla (1945), Carita de cielo (1946), La Negra Angustias (1949), Cuando levanta la niebla (1952), Las manzanas de Dorotea (1956), Melodias inolvidables (1958), Pueblito (1961), Una noche bajo la tormenta (1966), Las bestias jovenes (1969), El jardin de los cerezos (1977) y El testamento (1979). Tambien destacada actriz de television, incursiono igualmente en la politica y fue diputada federal. Se retiro de la industria filmica a finales de los aos setenta por su disgusto con el rumbo de la produccion de la epoca, segun expreso.ENGLISH - Actress. Later she had the occasion to work in Hollywood and in our country with the big figures of the forties and fifties, as Jorge Negrete, Mario Moreno Cantinflas, Arturo de Cordova and Pedro Armendariz, in a trajectory that spread in more than three decades and in the one that took part in more than one hundred of tapes. Recognized as one of the big stars of the so-called Epoch of Gold, it took part in qualifications as: This Is How It's Wanted in Jalisco (1942), The Climbing One (1944), The Pearl (1945), Little Face of Sky (1946), The Black Woman You Distress (1949), When It Raises the Fog (1952), The Apples of Dorotea (1956), Unforgettable Melodies (1958), Little Town (1961), One Night Under The Thunderstorm (1966), The Young Beasts (1969), The Garden of the Cherry Trees (1977) and The Testament (1979). Also outstanding actress of television, was devoted equally in the politics and she was a federal deputy.
