About Me

I like semi-transparent stain, the grinding pressure when guiding the key cutter, the dual purpose of raw linseed oil (a cow laxative AND a leather preservative), and old men with shuffling feet who in whispery paper voices associate spring with tapping maple trees, summer with berry picking, fall with harvest and winter with whiskey. I like solitude but I don't get enough of it. I miss walking in a city where I don’t know anyone. When and if ever I consider myself an actual adult I’ll be lucky to be anything like my mother.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Our mother, Elspeth Minnery, found out she had Renal cell carcinoma in February and underwent a very trying surgery and failed attempt to remove the cancer in March. She recovered vivaciously and renewed all sorts of inspiration in her children and the nurses at Sunnybrook ICU. She attended Nipissing University’s graduation ceremonies June 14th 2008, receiving her B.A. in History with distinction. Everything Elspeth focused on was given her full commitment, including her family, her studies and her fight with cancer. She passed in her sleep on Saturday November 15th, 2008.A bursary for mature students has been established for post-secondary education with financial need at Nipissing University in honour of our mother, a life long learner. Please send donations to University Advancement, Nipissing University RE: Elspeth Minnery Memorial Bursary Donations are Tax-deductable and receipts will be received for making a contribution.100 College Drive, Box 5002 North Bay ON Canada P1B 8L7 Phone 705-474-3450 ext. 4553**the government will match all donnations made, dollar for dollar, retroactively, once we reach $5000, making the total sum $10,000 and making the Bursary Endowed **
