Vibrant, Veracious and Versatile...
And well, Vietnamese. Vy (pronounced simply V) lights up the stage and studio with her unique blend of crossover pop and R&B style. With self-written tracks such as "This is Me" and "Solo," the Asian beauty has experienced the pains, self-doubts and heartaches that any average young adult has had to deal with. But its her ability to filter creative energy through music that makes her one of a kind. Though shes grown past the cynical phase in life and in music, Vy still has an edge to her that makes your heart race in witness of her musical wrath and yet a sense of overwhelming humility that makes her genuine.
Combined with her provocative sound and 15 years of dance training, Vy is capable of marveling even the most skeptic viewer. She is a young woman with a great potential and remarkable vision. She has the capability of appearing both sexy and innocent while, at the same time, maintaining a sense of dignity about herself. Her love for the stage is reflected in her performance and even as the stage lights dim, her audience is, oftentimes, left begging for more. She has perfected her style and has endured past any obstacles that have stood in her path.
After being discovered by Van Son Entertainment, a major Vietnamese production company, in 2004, Vy debuted at a live concert in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, Vy has performed all across the country and around the world creating a fan-base that reaches all across the globe.
Vy released her debut album, "My Story" in December 2005. As the first Vietnamese-American artist to release an all-English album containing all self-written original tracks, Vy leaves her mark in the Vietnamese Industry. "Writing my own songs gives me the opportunity to speak to people all over the world, in my own words." Working with long-time friends and producers, Manoj Gopinath and Eric Shields (aka Phathom), Vy was able to produce an album with a never-before heard of sound for the Vietnamese Industry.
As a college graduate at Western Washington University, Vy has successfully surmounted the struggle of balancing her commitment to getting an education and her steadfast devotion to entertainment. No matter the long hours, the physical demand, and the lack of sleep, Vy's dedicated to giving 100% into every project that comes her way.
