My Mother and Father
Both are amazing artists that taught me everything I know today.

Caravaggio-
His painting influence my photography and visual sense in life in all things I create. He is the only artist that i can relate to visually, the only one that makes sense to me, the only one i seem to understand the most. His Lighting is pure GENIUS. His mood and passion oozes through his works.
Above are my "true" heroes. Below are people i look up to for one reason or another. I am not a person that has to love the whole package of someone's work...if i find one thing that i love about it, i try to learn from that. i know there are a lot of people that look up to people in a more complete sense or admire them for more than one quality. i just don't find myself doing that. Below are listed some of my fav's and what I like about their approach or style. .
Alfonso Cuarón-
Where do i start. I love everything about his work. One of the few dirctors that i can say that about. He has a very raw style that i adore and his images are vivid and graceful even if some are a bit disturbing. I think another reason i am so drawn to him are his chioce of script. His stories are meaningful and very deep. There isn't one movie he makes that i watch just once. Really one of the most amazing directors alive.
Guillermo del Toro-
He reminds me a bit of Burton, especially with Pan's Labyrinth, but has much more meaning and depth. I love how diverse he is and his attention to detail. I also adore that he uses religious relics and artifacts and mentions Catholicism in many of his films. it also amazes me how dark and lyrical his work is. His work seems to have a rhythmic pulse to it, it floats like a haunting melody. A favorite quote of his,
When you have the intuition that there is something which is there, but out of the reach of your physical world, art and religion are the only means to get to it.
Tony Scott-
I love how he pushes all the time for something new and different. He has a life time of experience that allows him to experiment and take more risk than most directors. also, love his attention to detail, mood, color and lighting.
M. Night Shyamalan-
His style, the story, the look, the mood, everything about his vision is amazing to me. I love the use of his lighting and color... always something new and inspirational, yet so clean and honest.
Tim Burton-
Again, i tend to be drawn to those directors that have a picturesque style. Tim's work has a painting like quality to it...it is very distinct. i feel each frame of his work is an amazing foto.
Michelangelo Antonioni-
This would be the man that inspired me to do what i love. Blow Up was the pivotal point of my life i think where i decided i would not persue a career in radio and did what no one really wanted me to do:this.
