born in Rovniemi, finnland - birgit was starting to spin records at age 14 at the local barn, the only place played minimal detroit techno with balkan influences. at 15 she got her first electric guitar as a present, and traded it immidiatly with a small motorcycle, in order to get the fuck out of this nowhere called north finnland...arraiving to stockholm, she was finnaly starting to produce her own tracks, sticking in to her very own selective taste of sound and texture that we all know and respect. it didnt take long till she was noticed in the city, and started to work with great names in the scene such as; bodo mahakama and lili welghmington. her first LP "drawing in the dust, with pale fingers" (Retro/skop,) shocked north west europe with his innovative additude. sience 12 years
she is the head beheind bakla_rec, one of the leading tech/minimal/idm labels
in Turku, and she continue to produce while managing it.after winning the "salmon fish award" 2002, birgit bardox became one of the very little milestones left in the Rovniemi tech scene.
