i'm thinking.
it started simply enough: to find out what had become of a few pieces of steel.
one of the buildings that collapsed on September 11th 2001 was 7 World Trade Center (WTC 7). there were handfuls of explanations on what had caused the Twin Towers to collapse, but very little to explain the collapse of Building 7.
over seven years later, that's still the case.
so i started looking into it, did a LOT of reading (9/11 Commission, FEMA, NIST, NTSB, OIG, FDNY Oral Histories, etc.) and found some stuff that didn't fit.
i wrote some emails to various professors, especially concerning a beam from Building 7 which was so badly burned that it was described as "swiss cheese".
the engineering professors who examined the beam for FEMA had no idea what had been able to do this to steel, and they said in their report that "a detailed study" was needed.
that was over six years ago, and there's been no detailed study.
and NIST, the only organization that's still working on explaining the unprecedented collapse of Building 7, says that "no steel was recovered from WTC 7" for their studies.
so i made a poster to try and find the steel, hoping that if it turns up, NIST can examine it and explain it:
