Philip Buchanan, known around the scene as Buckyhawg (a.k.a. Bucky) has been beating around the club scene for many years and it shows. Not just in the face and walk but in his command of the stage and his songs. Influenced at an early age by country greats such as Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, and Jim Reeves and later by people such as Kris Kristofferson, John Prine, Lynryd Skynyrd, and The Band. Philip's songwriting and musicianship portrays a tapestry of all. Currently playing with Buck-O-Five a group of outstanding musicians anchored by Steve "Tater" Hensley and "Toady" Todd Johnston on bass and drums. Adding the fuel with a cross between Keith Richards and Mike Campbell, are Dale "Dangler" Ritchey and Johnny D. on guitars. Currently making headway in the songwriter market Buckyhawg's songs are starting to appear on TV shows and movies along with several cuts appearing on other artists albums. Big things are expected in the future and hopefully you will be saying I saw him in a tiny club in Atlanta before he was big.
