Hipster Deathkill 3000 was set up by Ian and Stephen of The Bubble Project with spiteful purpose of 'putting on gigs we want to see' because they always seem to miss the best ones due to lack of money, clashing engagements and crushing laziness to venture all the way to the cumberland arms.
Hipster Deathkill 3000 events happen sporadically, but are more often than the major PIVOT/STEP/PAUSE events of which there have been two so far.
deathkill has played host to Field Music, Chippewa Falls, The Bubble Project, Dressed in Wires, Mansions Of Glory, Pale Man Made, Razmataz Lorry Excitement, ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZS, Moira Stewart, Fishery Commission, John Egdell, Shin Jin Rui, Jennie and The Bets, Le coc (sportifs), Country Jim and the Bitesize Cowboys, Mushi Mushi...etc.
Hipster Deathkill 3000 also release DIY compilation cds of the best north east acts featuring everything from country, gabba, pop and ambient soundscapes. there has been three cds so far, Time For A Deathkill and Death By Audio and View to a Deathkill. American alternative/Disney comic artist Art Baltazar provides the covers for the cds.
we're going to really try and get more gigs on the way and hopefully overcome our fear and venture on the metroline past brockley winds to see more gigs.
Also this year Hipster deathkill 3000 will be joining forces with 'Stop Looking' brainbox Michael harrison to begin our monthly 'RAWK!' night at World Headquarters which is aptly named 'FACEMELTERS!!'- the hardest soft rock nite in town and riffs which will melt your face. More news on this to come.
It's time for a deathkill
