prince (because he's a genius), sade (because her lyrics have depth, she's mysterious, beautiful, and stylish all at the same time), andre talley (first and only black man to be editor at large for American Vogue; read his autobiography and was immediately fascinated by him), dave chapelle (he's hilarious, intelligent - choosing not to sell your soul for any amount of money and respecting your craft takes smarts and a lot of nerve; I like that), and he's got great taste in music (conversing with him would be interesting), tribe (they are my favorite group, period. From the moment i heard "can I kick it", I was devoted).

don't really have a favorite. everything that i've read has been interesting. Just finished reading The Shadow of a Panther, which discusses the civil rights movement and the eventual creation of the panther movement in the bay area. was very interesting. now i'm reading zora hurston, and when i finish that i'm going to start Ready for a Revolution by Stokely Carmichael. it's about 800 pages long, i'm hoping i'll be able to finish it before the end of summer...we'll see.
