capsize the stars

br/Matthew and I(Wells) met about seventeen years ago as students at Beloit College in southern Wisconsin. We bonded immediately over music. Soon we were playing together as an acoustic duo called Feck. Feeling the need to bring the rock, we recruited bassist Matt Foust and drummer Mike Hay, fellow students at the school. We dubbed the new combo Ether Bunny and developed a following around campus. Upon graduation, we all went our separate ways. Matthew formed Belva Plane and released an album on Parasol records featuring contributions from members of Wilco and Titanic Love Affair. I eventually moved to the Twin Cities to start up a new version of Ether Bunny with Matt Foust that included members of 12 Rods and future members of love-cars. Some eight years after our first meeting (and with few words in between) I received a phone call from Matthew. He had been working on some new material of which he wanted me to be a part. We started writing songs through the mail and Capsize the Stars is the finished product. We hope to finally release our full-length CD sometime this fall (sweater weather).
